Greenwich Peninsula development to generate 1,350 new homes
Executives in construction sales jobs should be aware a development of the Greenwich Peninsula in London is expected to create 1,350 new homes by the end of 2015.
As the projected is aimed at increasing affordable housing in London, as well as bolstering the city’s economy, more than 4,000 construction jobs are also due to be created.
The old gas works will be redeveloped in a major residential area spanning 190 acres in a move brokered by London mayor Boris Johnson and secretary of state Eric Pickles.
Mr Johnson said: “Ambitious schemes like this will not only create the thousands of jobs that are vital to grow our economy, but will ensure London cements its position as one of the world’s best cities to live work and invest in.”
The project coincides with plans to progress other key sites in the city, including the Queen Elizabeth site in Tower Hamlets and two former hospitals in Cane Hill.
Meanwhile, UK exports are projected to increase three per cent in 2010, according to the Ernst & Young Item Club.
